[what was he doing here? why was he actually here? sure, he could have denied endeavor and dabi's request to get him here. it's not like he needs closure. he's grown accustomed to his new life. really, it feels like he's on automatic most days, just watching the days come and go.
but receiving the message from endeavor regarding dabi...
he's not sure he believes it, honestly. there's nothing for the villain to forgive, not when the previous night left them on a sour note. however, if it's really needed for dabi's rehabilitation program, then he could manage. give dabi the closure he needed or whatever so he can be a subject to society again.
it's still a little strange to wait around the todoroki residence like this, arms wrapped around his body as he tries not to flinch. he's dressed in tight, dark pants along with the slinky shirt that would normally show off his wings. it's an outfit he disapproves of now, but one his handlers demand he dress in. keigo isn't sure why. his back looks hideous with the scars there.
he notes quietly that he hasn't seen the villain since the day he betrayed them, the day he killed twice and lost his wings. it's a day he tries not to think about, but always somehow manages to do so each day now. just need to get this over with, he tells himself. at least this should be far easier on his body than his actual work. emotionally, maybe not. but he can make it quick, right? he's sure dabi doesn't actually forgive him and this is a stunt to move ahead with his stupid program.
keigo perks up when he hears the footsteps coming down the stairs. he recognizes those steps, far different than endeavor's heavier ones. he's glad the hero isn't here. keigo isn't exactly in friendly moods with the man that gave his handlers the idea of the century regarding his new work. no. try not to think of it. he needs to hurry this up with dabi and leave.
however, his urgency to leave begins to settle as he comes to take in the form of his old lover. frail. dull. practically lifeless. not at all what he expected to see. it's like they were drugging dabi. he didn't recall that being in the requirements of his program. but, then again, he really didn't read too far into it. dabi was no longer his problem, and at that time, he never expected to see the villain again.]
What happened to you?
[he tries not to add such concern in there, but fuck, how can he just ignore months of actual feelings he once felt for this man?]
