[keigo isn't honestly sure what to expect here. endeavor isn't anywhere near the hero he always assumed the man to be. when it first came to light that he was the father of the mass murdering dabi, that he abused his children physically, keigo had been so lost. this was the hero who saved him from his own abusive childhood. he had always wanted to be just like endeavor.
now. now to know how much worst it is. why didn't it click? it's blindingly clear now, and keigo hates himself for not noticing it until it was too late.
a part of him feels like he's deserved every little painful thing thrown at him, from losing his wings, to his new work with the hero commission, and finally, to being this so called pet. however, dabi didn't deserve any of this. keigo would give anything to find a way to get the former villain free, even at the cost of his own life. he just can't take this lying down.
but keigo doesn't know where to begin. he's so lost and feels broken from the inside, like he wants to give up. the only thread that keeps his limbs going is his need to protect dabi.
to his utmost relief, the former villain comes to extend his arms out to keigo. he appreciates it, tries to send a small smile, albeit a sad one, as he gently examines the reddened skin. they're so torn, with current injuries and past damages. it makes his heart pull. softly as he can, keigo cleans up the wounds one at a time. maybe later he can properly clean it with disinfectant.
as he goes about wrapping what he can, keigo's fingers can't help but linger over the cuffs that remain. quirk suppressors. he sends a worried look over to the door, half afraid he would see endeavor. but, the monster of a man isn't there. so, returning back to the suppressors, he begins to examine them. they're a model he's only a little familiar with. as a trained spy, he did have to be knowledgeable concerning them, in case he was ever in a position where they were on him. yet, these were definitely different. stronger. more powerful.
