[Shigaraki shrugs.] That's up to you to decide, isn't it?

[He leans back against the wall, closing his eyes with a soft scoff. This was foolish of him to even indulge in. The occasional sexual romp he could sort of handle but this? He isn't sure what to make of it. Shigaraki Tomura has never had much in the ways of close relationships. Everyone and everything was just a pawn to be moved across the board. Dabi's different and he's not sure if that's good or bad. It must be mostly good, right? He was enjoying this as much as he pretended to detest this.]

If you don't need anything then you don't need anything. It's as simple as that.

[ Dabi finds that he can't really give Shigaraki an answer to that. He usually takes what he can, whenever an opportunity is presented. It would be foolish not to, wouldn't it? That's how they get the advantage.

But Shigaraki's words make him pause, and he lets out a thoughtful sound. ]

Alright. Then I guess I don't need anything. At the moment.

[He leans back against the wall as well, then glances over at the other.]

Do you?

[Yeah, this is definitely weird.]

I'm good. [He actually is pretty good. Aside from the embarrassment he'd put up with for the picture and Dabi's weird insistence on trying that burger, today was better than what he'd normally have done. The same thing could be said about every little encounter he's had with Dabi since they started this.]

I want to play more games though.

[ It's weird how that is. This little trip into trying to do whatever to take his mind off of boring shit has actually turned out alright. With Shigaraki of all people. It's not just weird, it's insane. But neither of them seem to be complaining, so whatever. Dabi isn't going to call either of them out for once. ]

Fine. You pick this time. I'll play whatever.

[So he settles in for some more game playing, grabbing the controller again. ]

I'll be sure to kick your ass this time.

Heh.

[Shigaraki turns the system back on, browsing quickly through the library of games he has. It doesn't take him very long to find what he's looking for; a Street Fighter game. Dabi threatened to kick his ass so of course he'd go for the one game that they could really kick each other's ass.]

You're welcome to try.

I had no idea you were such a video game enthusiast, you damn nerd.

[Dabi teases, but he's pretty into this too. The worst thing about it is probably that that was the lamest insult he's ever thrown at the other man and he really has no excuse for it.]

See, I know you probably suck at these two person games because you never have anyone to play with.

You know you can fight against NPCs and make them harder, right?

[He scoffs but it's actually a playful sounding scoff. It's almost like Dabi's melting through that steely exterior of Shigaraki's.]

But I don't need to play with another person to know I'll kick your ass.

Right. Of course I fucking did.

[He did not. Like he said, he only plays the racing games. If he wants to go fight, he just goes outside... but usually he's just too lazy for any of it.]

I'm gonna be that asshole looking guy with the muscles and the good hair, so fuck off.

[He selects his fighter- one that oddly enough looks like him, minus the scars- and probably with a few more muscles than what he has, because he's far too skinny (he's shit without his Quirk, let's be real), then waits for Shigaraki to do the same.]

Whoever looses buys food tomorrow night.

I bought the food tonight, dumbass.

[Well. The League paid for it thanks to their new sponsors and vendors. Dabi picks his character which earns a snort from Shigaraki as he promptly picks girl with a military-styled garb.]

Ready?

[Doesn't matter if Dabi is ready or not, Shigaraki's taking them into the game.]

And you'll be buying it again tomorrow, too. Asshole.

[Dabi is as ready as he's ever going to be. He concentrates more on this game because it isn't just running cars off roads and crashing into Shigaraki. This game needs a little more skill and planning, so he tries to put more thought into it.

To his dismay, Shigaraki is really good and their first fight is over in an embarrassing amount of time, which makes Dabi scowl.]

What the fuck? You cheated.

[he declares, though there's really no way to cheat.]

You need a handicap?

[He taunts with a cruel smile. Something else Shigaraki's gotten better at, learning how to better express his emotions. Though if you asked him to smile on command... he'd probably still have a poor job doing it.]

I'll give myself half health just for you. [Because Dabi barely put a dent in his health bar. Sad.]

I don't need anything, I'm just not used to this game. I'll get it, don't you fucking worry.

[Shigaraki's cruel smile is more like annoying, and he doesn't care about his emotions. They were probably better off with them being stunted, or whatever.

Dabi's just annoyed that he failed so hard, so fast.]

Don't even think about it. I don't need your pity.

[He'll learn, the same way Shigaraki is learning what to do when they're fooling around. Games and fucking, they'll be pros soon. ]

[Soon it'll be video games and chill with these two. Honestly tho? Shigaraki's having fun crushing Dabi easily. He realizes that Dabi won't appreciate him going easy on the other, so he doesn't let up. But he does throw out a few tips.]

Don't just smash the buttons. You're leaving yourself open. See?

[Whatever Dabi's doing, Shigaraki is able to maneuver his character and instantly kill the character with an out of bounds K.O.] It's all about knowing when to attack.

[That's why the next match, Shigaraki spends the first few seconds just idly walking towards Dabi's character. Taunting him, of course, but trying to show him how to play. It won't be fun much longer if Dabi's always an easy win.]

[ Video games and chill. What kind of Millennial hipster do you think Dabi is?? He's had far worse things in his life, though. This is pretty far away from the awful shit.

He hates losing, he hates getting crushed like this, but it's true, he'd rather Shigaraki not go easy on him. How will he ever learn if he just gets it handed to him? He may be lazy at times, but he does want to put in the work when needed. Apparently this is a Very Important Thing right now, so he's learning. ]

If this were real life your character would be dead a hundred times over.

[At first, smashing the buttons was just him trying to get out whatever move he could, but now he's watching Shigaraki's fighter and moves he's using, so during the next match, he actually does put up more a fight, watching as Shigaraki's health bar goes a lot lower this time.

he still loses the round, but he's getting it.]

I can't believe this girl in ugly pants is beating me.

[Shigaraki kind of likes watching Dabi struggle like this. It doesn't get old because Dabi does learn and pick up on tactics. He even caught Shigaraki by surprise a few times. Not that the other was bothered by it very much because he was able to cooly recover each time.

This next match is super close though with Shigaraki being one hit away from losing. Unfortunately for Dabi, Shigaraki knows how to block and wins that round.]

Closer.

[He's kind of excited for the moment Dabi will win.]

[ Dabi's annoyance and sheer frustration with the game quickly turns into persistence . He was close last time. Really close, and now it feels good, getting better at something he was pretty shit at, even if it's just video games. It's fun.]

Shut up.

[He says, but there's no bite to it at all as they go for another round. He's trying different combinations and attacks that hold more power in their punches and then finally, finally he knocks Shigaraki out, winning the round.

His arms go up in victory and he actually looks fucking delighted, pointing at Shigaraki with his controller]

I kicked your ass! I told you I'd kick your ass. Let's go again.

[Shigaraki actually smiles. He's excited to have someone who can finally match him him tit for tat at these games.]

I'm going to switch characters.

[If Dabi wants to swap characters, nows his chance but Shigaraki's going to keep Dabi on his toes. A different character meant an entirely different set of moves to read and predict but... Shigaraki knows Dabi will adapt. Especially if he sticks with his current character and combo set.]

If you can beat me within three tries... I'll reward you with something.

[Who can say what the reward is, not that Dabi has time to ask what it is because the round is starting up again.]

[ Shigaraki's actual smile is not as creepy as Dabi thought it would be, but he's not thinking about that right now. He's looking back at the screen, trying to decide if he should switch characters as well. He opts for no, because he's finally gotten the hang of this one. He wants to work with what he's got and focus on the new moves of Shigaraki's character.

And then, in true fashion of their... whatever this is, Shigaraki offers him a reward and Dabi can't say he's all too opposed to the idea. He wants to ask what, but it's true, there's no time.

He puts his all into the round, concentrating like he's never concentrated before, but he loses the first try. ]

Fuck. I take it back. I liked the girl with the ugly pants better.

She's just my warm up character, Dabi.

[If ever such a thing was true. The second try... Dabi's able to chip away at his health once and then Shigaraki doesn't relent. Shigaraki wins the second round pretty easily. It's clear that he's using different tactics with this second character.]

You got one more chance, Dabi.

Yeah, well... fuck.

[When he loses again the second time, he makes a decision to switch his character out and go with the one Shigaraki was playing before. The thing is, as much as he was learning the combinations for his character, he was paying closer attention to what Shigaraki's character was doing so he could bring her down. That's how he operates in real life, too. Observing others is top priority.]

Alright, now it's on.

[He even shifts a little closer to the TV. He wants his goddamn reward.]

You sure? It's your last chance.

[Well, there's no backing out now. Shigaraki starts up the next round, curious to see how Dabi handles the character he was playing before. It's a new set of combos to learn right on the spot... even if the other observed his character for a good while- he still has to take down this newer one.]

Show me what you can do, Dabi.

I'm sure.

[He's got the combos down pretty well from Shigaraki, and he's had two rounds to watch Shigaraki's new character. There are some moves that he's noticed the other man make a habit of using together after a certain hit, and that's when he attacks.

He finds the combos easier with this character and soon he's watching the health bar go down on Shigaraki's. He's not grinning yet, though. He isn't so overly confident to think that he's won. But then there's one last combo that he knows will give him an extra push- Shigaraki used it on him several times and he knocks the other guy out, letting out a sound of victory, his arms going up again.

He's clearly enjoying his win very much. If anyone else is around, they're probably wondering just what in the hell is going on in Shigaraki's room. Dabi probably hasn't shown this much emotion in ages.]

[Shigaraki stares at the screen, baffled that he was overtaken so easily. He's not mad though. Just in awe at how easily the other villain could memorize the combos and go up against him. But it should be expected of Dabi. He's lazy but if there's something he wants... he actually gives it his all and that's something Shigaraki can appreciate.]

Not bad. You're almost a pro now.

[He sounds really amused if anything.]

Not bad? I crushed you.

[So that's a little over the top, but look, he's proud of himself and he did good. Shigaraki's initial baffled look makes him feel even better. People shouldn't underestimate him so easily. He really does get shit done when he puts his mind to it.

Not that Shigaraki underestimates him. He knows better than that by now.]

So what's my reward?

[He asks, completely forgetting that just the other day he scoffed at such a thing, telling Shigaraki he wasn't a damn dog. But look at him now, turning to the other man, raising his eyebrows as he waits.]

Hmmm. I'll have to think.

[Admittedly? He didn't think Dabi could pull off a win in three turns. It was just a bet to get the other man excited and seriously thinking about the game. Dabi proved him wrong.]

Something good for beating a pro like me.

[But what could Dabi possibly want? He wonders.]
