It's too mushy. [Well at least he didn't call it outright disgusting.] It's turned the bun into a wet mess.

[But he swallows and goes back to his burger and fries. No more exploratory foods for Mr. Plain Burger here.]

Sometimes big opportunities aren't always what they're hyped to be. Especially if you've done nothing to earn it.

[For a guy that throws tantrums over the smallest inconveniences, it seems like he doesn't want everything to get handed to him. He works hard at putting together his tasks. If he wanted to, he could very well demand everything be handed to him. But he doesn't.

He swallows the rest of his burger, picking at the last of his fries before he wipes his hands clean on the seat of his pants. Classy. Shigaraki then stands up and goes over to the TV to turn it on.]

Are you staying?

[ He pops the piece of burger Shigaraki gave him into his mouth. It's good, but it could definitely use more of everything. He steals a fry covered in mayo and ketchup while he's at it. Looking at the bun in his hand, it really is a wet mess, but he just shrugs and takes another bite. ]

That's never bothered you before. Especially with your incessant questioning, hoping I'll cave. But lucky for me, because I don't wanna tell you shit anyway.

[Dabi knows there's no logical reason to what Shigaraki is saying. He just really didn't want to try the burger. Or he's annoyed that Dabi really won't reply to his demands, but would give it up for something so simple of his own choosing. Either way, Dabi still comes out on top.]

I don't know.

[Dabi says when Shigaraki asks if he's staying, but he doesn't really make any moves to leave this time. He turns himself to face the TV, pulling the rest of his fries and his slop of a burger with him.]

[He turns the playstation on as well, making sure two controllers were connected before he headed back to where he was sitting. Once controller gets placed in front of Dabi, the other stays firmly in Shigaraki's hands with his pinky out despite the gloves.]

Take your time finishing your food. I want to finish this boss level and then we can play something for two people.

[The expectation is clear now that he expects Dabi to stay and play games with him.

Shigaraki boots up a game andddd it's Dark Souls III.]

[ Dabi starts getting comfortable, wiping his hands on some napkins before he tugs his jacket off and sets it aside, along with his shoes. When he sits back down, he sits closer to Shigaraki and he jams the last of his burger in his mouth, paying more attention to the screen now.

Apparently he's staying, picking up the controller with greasy fingers.]

This is what you play by yourself? How unsurprising.

[In the time it took Dabi to finish eating and get comfortable, Shigaraki's been invaded no less than three times in game. He's won each encounters and he's currently chipping away at the final boss' health. He's pretty calm about being invaded and the hits he takes to the face, only letting a few curses slip by when the situation looks dire.

But somehow he prevails, and makes it to the nearest bonfire to save and heal up.]

I have other games too, Dabi. [God what do you take him for a casual!?] What kind of games do you play?

[ Shigaraki's fast, and good. Dabi's not nearly as good, but it's not as if he's going to admit that. Then again, Shigaraki's going to see it in a few minutes anyway, but it's fine. These are just games. He has nothing to prove with any of them. ]

...I play this one too. But mostly the racing ones.

[Mostly he just doesn't really play at all, but it seems like something normal to do, so he wants to do it. If Shigaraki hasn't caught on, that seems to be the theme of tonight. ]

[Shigaraki really hasn't caught on. Maybe he's just socially stunted having lived his entire life being groomed to take over the League of Villains. It shows too, in the way they had to recruit new people. Normal for Shigaraki isn't... this. Playing video games is normal but with others?]

Hmm? We'll get you a system of your own so we can play together sometime. [He'd like playing with others. It's boring by himself.] There's some racing games in my library.

[He closes out of the game after saving, pulling up the entire digital games library he has. It's... quite extensive. With completion rates up in the eighty percentile.]

Pick whichever one you want.

[ That's exactly why Dabi wants this sometimes. He's pretty damn socially stunted and this isn't normal for him either. But he knows it's supposed to be, at least. It's not like he really does anything with other people either. He hasn't spent this much singular time with a person for... well, probably since he was a child. ]

Sure, if you want.

[He had no idea Shigaraki was such a video game enthusiast. Then again, he's constantly surrounding himself with screens. Dabi looks through the games and points to one that seems like it's a good mix of racing and explosions. Something he doesn't have to think too hard about.]

If I had known you had this many, I would've raided your room a lot sooner.

[When you're a NEET trying to bring down the status quo of the heroing world, you end up with a lot of spare time on your hands surprisingly. His game library is just a reflection of that.

He boots up the racing game Dabi selected and gets to work setting up the multiplayer loadout.]

I had more. This was the only system we could salvage after our last hideout was destroyed. Luckily I don't care much for physical copies of the games. [Smart. Anyways he picks his driver and his car that he wants to be.] Pick your car, you can pick the track too.

[ Yeah, Dabi knows just how much time they have on their hands. That's why they started this whole thing in the first place. Well... more or less. He really was just bored at first and pestering Shigaraki was something amusing.

he picks his car and goes through the tracks, choosing one of the medium level ones and then he starts up the game. ]

Maybe we should just do this when we're bored.

[He's totally kidding of course. Today was just one of the stranger days when it came to their arrangement. Dabi shifts with his controller as he plays the game, crashing into Shigaraki a few times, both on screen and physically.]

[Dabi crashing into him, has Shigaraki shoving the other one away. Every time it happens he gets bumped down from first place to fourth place and has to spend the next lap playing catch up. They spend the next hour or so racing- going back and forth between winning and losing.

Even with all the times Dabi tries to mess Shigaraki up, he doesn't throw a tantrum or get terribly upset. It only encourages him to act the same way in kind, often purposefully exploding Dabi's car whenever he could. The only time he got upset was when he was just about to hit first place and, of course, Dabi decided to physically crash into him, sending his avatar reeling to the side instead of over the finish line.

But he has fun. Actual fun.]

[ The expression on Dabi's face is usually either a very bored one or a very smug one, but right now it's a whole different thing. Maybe even a sort of crooked grin, though it's hard to tell when his scars make him look like he's always grinning.

He even laughs a few times when their cars go crashing or running off the road because of his antics, and Shigaraki shoves him back physically, sending his car in opposite directions. It's fun and he forgets all the bullshit for a little while. An hour is probably longer than he's ever just let his mind go.

When they're done, he flops back, snickering as he lets the control fall from his hand. ]

Oh, no. How villainous of me.

[He squints at the joke and, if they were closer, would have jabbed him in the side for it. Awful.]

Hmm. [Shigaraki turns off the system to give it a rest, sitting back and looking over at the other's smug grin.] You're not bad but you rely too heavily on fucking over others to win.

[ He is awful. Most of the time he thinks Shigaraki likes it. ]

Guess that's why they kicked me out of hero school.

[Another joke? Or the truth? He just leaves that one hanging as he sits back up]

The satisfaction that you won? [Ugh, he should have known that Dabi would have asked for something for winning.] You realize I also won a couple of times too, right?

That's not very fun.

[Dabi smirks, reaching out to press at one of the dark bruises on Shigaraki's neck, just because he can. It's not like they aren't already in each other's personal space. Actually, Dabi has been doing a lot of that today. Maybe ten minutes of touch therapy is already starting to help.]

Yeah, you did.

[It doesn't hurt as bad as it did last night but the bruise still gets a tiny wince out of Shigaraki. He swats at Dabi's hand, playfully.]

If you want something just fucking ask.

[ Dabi pulls his hand away quickly before Shigaraki can fully swat at it and leans back on his arms, eying him. Does he want something? He's not really sure. They've done a lot of things he wanted today, even if there was the one thing he didn't... and even that, he had decided was probably better for him than not, in the long run. ]

I don't know. What more could I ask for?

[retrievearms]

[Shigaraki shrugs.] That's up to you to decide, isn't it?

[He leans back against the wall, closing his eyes with a soft scoff. This was foolish of him to even indulge in. The occasional sexual romp he could sort of handle but this? He isn't sure what to make of it. Shigaraki Tomura has never had much in the ways of close relationships. Everyone and everything was just a pawn to be moved across the board. Dabi's different and he's not sure if that's good or bad. It must be mostly good, right? He was enjoying this as much as he pretended to detest this.]

If you don't need anything then you don't need anything. It's as simple as that.

[ Dabi finds that he can't really give Shigaraki an answer to that. He usually takes what he can, whenever an opportunity is presented. It would be foolish not to, wouldn't it? That's how they get the advantage.

But Shigaraki's words make him pause, and he lets out a thoughtful sound. ]

Alright. Then I guess I don't need anything. At the moment.

[He leans back against the wall as well, then glances over at the other.]

Do you?

[Yeah, this is definitely weird.]

[retrievearms]

I'm good. [He actually is pretty good. Aside from the embarrassment he'd put up with for the picture and Dabi's weird insistence on trying that burger, today was better than what he'd normally have done. The same thing could be said about every little encounter he's had with Dabi since they started this.]

I want to play more games though.

[creamation]

[ It's weird how that is. This little trip into trying to do whatever to take his mind off of boring shit has actually turned out alright. With Shigaraki of all people. It's not just weird, it's insane. But neither of them seem to be complaining, so whatever. Dabi isn't going to call either of them out for once. ]

Fine. You pick this time. I'll play whatever.

[So he settles in for some more game playing, grabbing the controller again. ]

I'll be sure to kick your ass this time.

[Shigaraki turns the system back on, browsing quickly through the library of games he has. It doesn't take him very long to find what he's looking for; a Street Fighter game. Dabi threatened to kick his ass so of course he'd go for the one game that they could really kick each other's ass.]

[Dabi teases, but he's pretty into this too. The worst thing about it is probably that that was the lamest insult he's ever thrown at the other man and he really has no excuse for it.]

See, I know you probably suck at these two person games because you never have anyone to play with.

[He scoffs but it's actually a playful sounding scoff. It's almost like Dabi's melting through that steely exterior of Shigaraki's.]
